Aberdeen City Council operates a winter community self-help scheme by providing one-tonne bags of salt to local residents and community groups. This is not for personal use, but is for residents to use on lower priority roads, streets and footpaths which may not receive treatment from the council. The deadline to apply for these is 1st November.
