Update on the repairs to the Lovers’ Walk footpath:
Scottish Water Contractors Chap have commenced work on sewer repairs and protection at Lovers Walk which remains closed.
Access for Chap equipment and materials is via the Deeside Way from Culter Station but this remains open to the public with care.
Due to freezing conditions on Monday only limited preparation work was possible (it is not possible to work with concrete below 5 degree C).
In addition there is more work to be done than originally specified by Scottish Water. It is therefore likely that Lovers Walk will remain closed for the remainder of this week.
Culter Community Council are working closely with SW & ACC to ensure that all necessary repairs are undertaken and safe access for the public is returned as soon as practicable. Additional repairs to riverbank and path will be undertaken after Scottish Water have completed sewer remedial work.
